Mark L. McCombs
Grand Monarch 2016-2017
Greetings, Prophets of the Realm!
Joan and I are very excited to be your Grand Monarch and First Lady this year and we look forward to seeing many old friends, as well as meeting, and making, new friends as we travel throughout the Enchanted Realm.
Our theme for our year is “Celebrating the Grotto Family.” We will be having a great time with this theme at convention and look forward to celebrating our Grotto friends during the holiday themed week. We will of course celebrate the big ones, Halloween to start, so bring your favorite costume to wear at the Grand Opening. Thanksgiving will be, as per tradition, on Thursday night, so we can stuff ourselves prior to the Humanitarian Foundation’s annual night of entertainment, which I might add will leave quite an “impression” on you. We will also celebrate the holiday season of Christmas at my Grand Monarch’s banquet. It will be a formal affair, as usual, with a touch of Christmas attire or accessories, or if you celebrate Hanukah, join in the fun with your favorite attire or accessories, so we may ALL show our spirit of the holiday season. The final event of the week, the ever famous Red Tassel Party, will end my year and start the new Grand Monarch’s year by celebrating New Year’s Eve. This evening will also provide some very special entertainment and possibly even a special appearance by Father and Baby Time.
Lady Joan has had designed a wonderful new charm bracelet and a Family Tree charm to sell during her year. The proceeds from the sale of these bracelets will go back to YOUR Supreme Council. This new bracelet will allow the Ladies following her through the line the ability to design a charm that is special to her year as First Lady. Don’t get left out, see either Lady Joan or one of the other Grand Line Ladies to purchase your bracelet, and charm, so that you will have the bracelet for the new charms that may be released in the coming years. I might mention this would be a great gift for that special Lady in your life!
While traveling the Realm, I hope to hear all about what your Grotto does for fun and what your plans are for attaining new members. I would very much appreciate hearing any suggestions you have for keeping the Enchanted Realm full of fun and goodfellowship, too.
Before I go, I would like to thank you for visiting our website and hope that you find it informative and useful.
Again, we look forward to seeing each of you as we visit the Enchanted Realm and wish all of you many blessings in the days and months ahead.
Yours in Goodfellowship,
Mark Layman McCombs, Grand Monarch
