Prophets, Ladies and Friends,
Wahoo!! What an exciting time to be a Mason and a Prophet! Thank you so much for your support and your help creating this amazing growth we are seeing across the Realm. Eight years ago, when you first considered electing me to the Grand Line, this expansion was thought to be impossible but working together to promote fraternal fun of Grotto, here we are. 57 new Grottoes, three new countries, and thousands of new Prophets. The theme for the next year is “BEE THE DIFFERENCE”, and like the worker bees we emulate, you certainly have been the difference. Thank you all for your efforts and involvement.
You have all met my wonderful wife Cindy who has unfailingly supported me along this path. I also have 3 sons, Cody, Casey and Wyatt. All three are Master Masons while Cody is also Charter Member of Wahoo Grotto. I won the grandchild lottery with 5 granddaughters and 2 grandsons, Madison, Little Marty, Peyton, Cassidy, Parker, Nolan and Wes.
In the 43 years since I was raised as a Master Mason in Park Place Lodge #1172 in Houston, Texas I have had the honor to serve as Master of the Lodge for John Mitchel #1401 and as Charter Master of Serenity #1463. I am a 43-year member of the Chapter, Council and Commandry at Park Place, 42 years as 32nd degree Scottish Rite in the Valley of Houston, then Valley of Galveston, Degree Master in the 15th, and a Knight of Saint Andrews. I was privileged to be selected to serve the Grand Lodge of Texas as District Deputy Grand Master, District Communications Officer, and District Instructor. But once I found Grotto, Grotto became my love. From my very first Grotto meeting at the SWGA convention, PGM McCombs, PGM Theirgart, and PM Harrison Root showed me the joy and fun I was looking for in the Masonic Fraternity. I hope to continue spreading the essence of Grotto beyond all boundaries. The only thing holding us back is the limits of our ability to imagine.
