Gao Grotto Celebrates 100 Years
On Saturday, July 12, 2025, Gao Grotto, located in Danville, Illinois, held a celebration for their 100th Anniversary. They were chartered on February 20, 1925.
On Friday, July 11th, 2025, the Grand Monarch, Robert Lorenz, Jr., and his wife, First Lady Theresa Lorenz, travelled to Gao Grotto to participate in the start of a wonderful weekend of festivities. They were picked up from their hotel and taken on a tour of Danville, and then were shortly after escorted to Gao Grotto for dinner and dancing. In his report on his travels, the Grand Monarch remarked, "Good fellowship was had by all who attended."
Then, on Saturday, they were picked up by Gao Grotto's Monarch, Tony Redenbaugh, for breakfast. Afterward, they went to the Grotto for a presentation on their history and their goals for the next three years. After, they went on a boat across the lake for a Past Monarch's reception, which was held at the home of Gao Grotto's Chief Justice, Rick Garcia.
Later that evening, there was dinner, a band, and fireworks on the lake. Remarks were given by Danville's Mayor, Rickey Williams, Jr., Illinois state Representative Brandun Schweizer, Grand Marshal Michael Neeley, and Grand Monarch Robert Lorenz, Jr.
We are happy to celebrate this fantastic achievement with Gao Grotto. Together, we have celebrated a century of unwavering dedication to the ideals of Fun and Good Fellowship. Gao Grotto serves as a reminder that this is the fraternity that Friendship built.
Thank you for your continued legacy.
